What To Expect During Your Session...

Quick stinging sensation — Most intense first time; gets easier.

Professional hygiene — Gloves, single‑use sticks, clean wax pots.

Communication — Your esthetician will guide you through breathing and positioning.

    • Retinoids / Accutane use — These thin the skin and can cause lifting/tearing.

    • Active sunburn — Skin is too fragile for waxing.

    • Open wounds / rashes / infections — Risk of irritation and spreading bacteria.

    • Recent chemical peels or laser — Skin barrier is compromised.

    • Varicose veins — Can worsen inflammation.

    • Recent tanning — Increases risk of skin lifting.

    • Blood-thinning medications — Higher risk of bruising.

    • Active breakouts — Waxing can irritate or spread bacteria.

    • Hair length check — Hair must be ¼ inch (grain of rice).

    • Gentle exfoliation — Helps prevent ingrowns. Avoid harsh scrubs same day.

    • Clean skin only — No lotions, oils, deodorant, or self‑tanner.

    • Avoid heat exposure — No saunas, hot tubs, or tanning.

    • Pain prep — Ibuprofen 30–60 min before if desired.

    • Avoid caffeine/alcohol — They increase sensitivity.

    • Hydrate well — Supple skin hurts less.

    • Cycle timing — You may be more sensitive right before/during your period.

    • Loose, breathable clothing — Cotton is best.

    • Avoid tight leggings, sports bras, or jeans — Reduces friction and irritation.

For bikini waxing: Wear loose underwear or bring a spare pair.

For chest/back waxing: A loose button‑down is ideal.

    • Hands off — Avoid touching to prevent bacteria transfer.

    • Avoid heat & sweat — No gym, sauna, hot tubs for 24 hours.

    • No sex after bikini wax — 24–48 hours to avoid irritation.

    • Avoid sun exposure — Skin is more prone to burning.

    • Skip active skincare — No retinol, acids, deodorant, or perfume on the area.

    • Cool compress or aloe — Helps reduce redness.

    • Exfoliate after 2–3 days — Prevents ingrowns.

    • Moisturize regularly — Keeps skin soft and reduces bumps.

  • Face

    • Avoid waxing if using retinoids.

    • Expect temporary redness; avoid makeup for 12–24 hours.

    • Great for upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns.
